Burning Spear Announces One People Africa Tour 2024

Burning Spear just announced the ONE PEOPLE AFRICA TOUR 2024!

Spear recently completed a 22-date North America tour on June 28 and will soon be in on tour in Europe from July 27 to August 11.

The long awaited return to Africa will happen this October. Shows are confirmed in Zimbabwe and South Africa. A performance in Kenya is also very likely, but not officially confirmed yet. [UPDATE: Kenya is confirmed!]

Weeks ago, Burning Spear announced to his fans in Kenya on his Facebook page that he would be giving a concert. Due to the recent conflicts and riots in Kenya, end of June Spear spoke of a cancellation or postponement:

"Greetings Kenya.
I man Winston Rodney aka Burning Spear stands with my brothers and sisters from Kenya.
I man love is unconditional. That being said I man do not want i man presence to add or make things worst. I want Kenya to be safe.
This is an official announcement I man will cancel or postpone the upcoming show that was scheduled for October 12th.
I cannot describe how I feel at this time.
We will talk soon.."

Frustrated fans made their displeasure visible in the comments and the cancellation (although the show had not yet been officially announced and there were no tickets on sale) was also reported in numerous media outlets.

But now fans in Kenya can hope to see Spear live again. On July 8th, Spear posted on Facebook alongside a video message [watch below]:
"Don't worry Kenya I man will be there as long as I am allowed to be there I will be there. Kenya one love universally.."
