The event allows for a diverse and eclectic group of attendees to interact, share knowledge and enter into new ventures. Event organizer, Douglas Gordon, shared “I am deeply encouraged by the progress that we have seen in the industry in Jamaica in the past year. The is a significant improvement in the responses from the international community to participate in the conference. It reflects a few things, in my opinion, that CanEx has done its part to date to deliver on what we stated as our objectives, on the forward progress by the industry and the fact that we are holding an event to discuss a global phenomenon in an exceptional city in a world-class facility.”
The cannabis industry is arguably the fastest growing global economic opportunity. But more key than the substantial economic benefits, is the fact that is holds the real possibility of medical treatment and relief for such a wide array of ailments and a natural, effective and safe method to treat pain. The present opioid epidemic impacting the US is a true clarion call for the urgency of action for the industry to move forward.
CanEx Jamaica was held for the first time in September 2016, and a Seminar Series was subsequently held on May 5, 2017. Both events were very successful and provided an important opportunity for knowledge exchange and high level networking. They have played a pivotal role in elevating the discussion from a business and industry perspective in Jamaica. There have been quite a number of business relationships and partnerships forged at CanEx Jamaica.
