Gregory born 15th July 1950, Fletcher Land, Kingston Jamaica. He was described by Milo Miles in the New York Times as the most exquisite voice in reggae, Isaacs dominated the Reggae scene during the 70s, 80s and 90s.

Gregory made his recording debut collaborating with Winston Sinclair in 1968 on a track called Another Heartache although this record did not achieve much, he continued and teamed up with Bramwell Brown and Hugh Roy Henry to form a group called The Concords.

After the group was disbanded Gregory launched a solo career and the rest is history. Starting in 1973 with friend Errol Dunkley they set up the African Museum label and had a massive hit with My Only Lover credited as the first lovers rock record ever made. This was followed with a string of other hits like All I Have is Love and the Wailers' cover Slave Driver.

He recorded his first album In Person (1974) and went on to record over 200 albums. The albums Cool Ruler (1978) and Soon Forward (1979) were released on Front Line, a sub-label of Richard Branson’s Virgin Records, and made Gregory known internationally. Isaacs was signed to Island Records in the early 80s and had massive crossover hits with Night Nurse and Rumours.
