Idriss Sarla

Idriss Sarla (real name Idriss Sarambe) is a Franco-Burkinabé artist from Rennes, born on March 24, 2002.

Coming from a family of musicians, he grew up in an environment where music held a central place, sparking his passion for this art form at an early age. Inspired by the messages of peace and justice in reggae, he has developed an authentic approach that blends captivating rhythms with meaningful lyrics. His songs tackle universal themes such as love, spirituality, and the hope for a better world.

In 2020, Idriss decided to fully dedicate himself to music. After three years of experimentation and hard work, he released his debut EP, Soul of Pirate, in October 2023. Composed of six tracks, this project combines militant, danceable, and introspective sounds, enriched by singles like Red Light and Émancipation. With the EP Afrique Road, he draws from his Burkinabé roots and his travels to offer a vibrant and diverse sonic palette.

In 2023, Idriss Sarla reached a decisive milestone in his career by founding his band, The I’Roots. Together, they spent their first year building an original repertoire and refining their on-stage chemistry. This fruitful collaboration led to a series of concerts along the Breton coast throughout the summer. Their infectious energy and authenticity captivated audiences, transforming each performance into an immersive and heartfelt experience.

Always seeking growth, Idriss continues to expand his musical universe. At the end of 2023, he unveiled the music video for Roots Reggae, an ode to his influences and his commitment. At the same time, he began actively working on a second EP, scheduled for release in late summer 2025. This upcoming project, composed of six new tracks, will explore essential themes such as spiritual awakening, unity, and collective hope.

Far from limiting himself to one territory, Idriss Sarla aims to take his music far beyond borders. Through concerts, artistic collaborations, and ever more ambitious projects, he strives to touch hearts and deliver a universal message. For him, every song and performance is an opportunity to bring people together and convey values of peace, love, and justice.
