"A new genre of music going to come out of Reggae & Dancehall. It’s gonna happen soon. Reggae & Dancehall are about to see the birth of something new soon."
Over the past 15 years, Walshy Fire has played a crucial role in the Reggae and Dancehall industry.
As a producer, selector and MC he was part of the highly successful sound system Black Chiney and together with Diplo and Jillionaire he is Major Lazer. Despite the fame and the hype, as well as the workload, he still maintains his humble character and the appreciation for the music.
Sharing some stories from the beginnings with Black Chiney (Photos: Black Chiney in Munich, Germany 2007), digging for records and the times of Dancehallminded.com and floppy disks up until today to working with Cocoa Tea, No-Maddz, Koffee and Tóke and searching for new talents from all over the world, Walshy shared his experiences and thoughts in an in-depth interview, that he gave Munchy as he invited her to his house in Kingston, Jamaica in February 2019.
