Rest in Power Naâman (February 25, 1990 - February 7, 2025)

French reggae singer Martin Mussard, better known as Naâman, has died. He succumbed to a brain tumor that was diagnosed in 2019. In April 2022 he underwent surgery and subsequently had to undergo chemotherapy. Nevertheless, he continued to play concerts in 2022, 2023 and 2024 and released new songs. Sadly, the treatment was not successful and Naâman passed away on February 7th, 2025, which was announced on his social media channels:

"Naâman took his final breath at 10:10 am this morning. He believed deeply that we are all souls, a loving awareness that is eternal. That life never dies.
On his death he wanted people to know that their love has been his strength. That when he looked back at his life he was in awe of all the beauty and abundance.
Right up till the end he wanted to create songs. Music was in his every breath.
The courage in the face of his illness, his patience and kindness, despite the pain, are an inspiration to those who had the privilege to take care of him in his final days. He embraced death with an absolute trust.
He is Love. His Joy is immortal. His song is eternal.
Let us all celebrate him.

"Man this news is so sad.
Martin was an incredible man, very unique and special. To think that a young, white, clean-faced, French man could enter into the reggae world and redefine what a lead vocalist could be…absolutely amazing ????
Just like all of us Martin was sent here to do a work and what a magnificent job he did. Life is for living and Martin did just that. He had seen so many places, met and shared vibes with so many people…a true blessing…and Martin knew this…he was at peace.
I encourage you all to checkout the song RAINDROPS on YouTubeMartin’s songwriting just like his life was always upful…celebrate him and remember him always. I will forever miss you my brother.

"Goodbye little brother Naâman. REST IN PEACE WARRIOR.

I will shed a tear for the loss of our old friend Martin today. I thank God for his spirit and for his life which he lived as fully as anyone could.. May the angels be kind to you and the Lord have mercy on you as you take the long sleep.

My memory of Naaman was from 2013 when he was a young MC burning with enthusiasm to get onto the scene to express himself in his own gifted and unique manner. I watched him grow and evolve into an outstanding artist, creator and performer and I am deeply sad today to bear witness to such a wonderful young artist's departure from us, his energetic, inspired and determined life cut short when he had so much.more to give..

But today I will celebrate his life. I celebrate his music and I celebrate the reminder he gives us, that only God knows what time we are given. Let us do the best, be the kindest, most honest, most loving and hard working as we can be in the time we have for tomorrow is promised to nobody.

We will never forget you buddy. It was a privilege to know you and I thank God for your life. Goodbye."

"I only had the opportunity to meet him once, but he was a genuinely true, humble and kind person. I felt that instantly. Sending Love to the Naâman family and to all my friends who have worked with him over the years. I know this is a great loss and like so many great musicians before him, far too young. His music will carry on into infinity. Bless his soul’s journey."
