Friends Unite For JA 2020 ADD

VP Records are proud to support American Friends of Jamaica (AFJ) and Tuff Gong International for #FriendsUniteForJA - a live stream Fundraiser Telecast, taking place this Sunday (14th June - 10pm GMT), to help support Jamaica in their fight against COVID-19. The fundraiser will be available to watch for free at www.theafj.org and via VP Records' Youtube Channel.

The event, co-hosted by US rap star, DJ Khaled and 90s hip-hop icon, Busta Rhymes, will feature renowned reggae music and Grammy award-winning artists, supporting food and economic relief in communities impacted by COVID-19 in Jamaica. Donors and reggae fans will bear witness to a massive lineup featuring the legendary Bounty Killer, Busy Signal, Skip Marley, Beenie Man as well as Christopher Martin, Lila Ike and Sister Nancy. Notable cellist Sheku Kanneh-Mason will be featured and music by Max Glazer Federation Sound.

The event provides an opportunity to tell the COVID story from Jamaica’s perspective with a heartening representation of human resiliency. Attendees will also be able to view the broadcast in a dedicated chat room with friends, which will begin 30mins before the telecast. Each chat room will contain 10 participants in an exclusive experience similar to a zoom chat format and will include special guest / celebrity drop-ins (fees apply).
